Technical words explained
Often abbreviations and jargon are used. In this section some of them are explained
RFID: Radio-frequency identification uses electromagnetic fields to automatically identify and track tags attached to objects.
NFC: Near-Field-Communication is a set of communication protocols for communication between two electronic devices over a distance of 4 cm (11⁄2 in) or less.
Symmetric authentication : the algorithm uses a single key for both processes encryption and decryption.
Asymmetric authentication: the algorithms use separate keys for encryption and decryption.
EV: Electric Vehicle
Type 1 charging is slowcharging. The Mode 2 charging cable for connection to an ordinary domestic socket is supplied by the car manufacturer. Communication between vehicle and charging port is provided via a box connected between the vehicle plug and connector plug (ICCB In-Cable Control Box).
